How carpooling works
Post your pickup, destination and travel times in the app. RideMate matches you with a verified car owner who already makes that journey. Check the route and fare, confirm, and you’re picked up from your door.
Need a ride home too? Add the time you’ll be ready to leave. Your evening ride is matched separately, so it fits when you actually finish.
What it costs
Fares are per seat and based on distance, roughly PKR 20–35 per km. Longer trips get a lower per-km rate, and rates can change with fuel prices. A platform charge of PKR 250 per month applies from the month you start riding.
Start with a one-day paid trial. If it works for you, keep at least one week paid in advance, or pay for 10 days, 15 days or a full month. You’re only charged for the rides you take, so holidays and days off cost nothing.
Choose your city
Every city commutes differently. See how carpooling works in Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
Travelling every day? Consider monthly
If you make the same trip every working day, monthly pick-and-drop gives you a regular rider and a discounted fixed amount. Carpooling suits you better if your office days change from week to week.
Driving to work anyway?
Offer your empty seats on the route you already drive. Passengers share your fuel costs, and RideMate pays you online every weekend. See the benefits for car owners.
Verified people, every ride
Every driver and passenger uploads their documents in the app, and RideMate reviews them before anyone carpools. Learn how verification works.
Common questions
Is carpooling the same as booking a taxi?
No. You book a seat in a car that’s already making the journey, so you share the ride and the cost with others going the same way.
Do I pay for days I don’t travel?
No. Carpooling only charges for the rides you take. Leave, holidays and work-from-home days aren’t charged.
Is the return trip included?
Each direction is a separate ride at the same price. Add your return time when you post your route, and we’ll match an evening ride too.
What happens if I’m late for pickup?
The driver waits 3–5 minutes at your pickup point. After that they may leave so other passengers aren’t delayed, and the ride is charged.
How do I stop carpooling?
Give one day’s notice. You can then request your unused advance back, paid within 5 working days.
